अस्मद्धितं वाक्यमिदं भीष्म: शान्तनवोडब्रवीत् | पाण्डवानां हित॑ चैव सर्वस्य जगतस्तथा,'शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मने हमारे लिये यह हितकर बात कही है। इसमें पाण्डवोंका तथा सम्पूर्ण जगत्का भी हित है
asmaddhitaṃ vākyam idaṃ bhīṣmaḥ śāntanavo ’bravīt | pāṇḍavānāṃ hitaṃ caiva sarvasya jagatas tathā ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “This counsel, spoken by Bhīṣma, the son of Śāntanu, is beneficial to us. Indeed, it is also for the welfare of the Pāṇḍavas—and likewise for the good of the whole world.”
