Bhishma said: “O king, then at daybreak—when the sun had risen and the light had become clear—the battle between the Bhargava (Parashurama) and me began again.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights steadfastness in a vowed duty: even after a pause (night), the opponents resume combat at dawn, reflecting the kshatriya ideal of endurance and commitment to one’s chosen course, whatever the personal cost.
Bhishma narrates to the king that when morning came and the sun’s light became clear, his duel with Parashurama began again—signaling the continuation of their prolonged and intense confrontation.
