Then I saw that blazing śakti-weapon, radiant like the sun at the time of cosmic dissolution, rushing toward me. With a volley of arrows I cut it into three parts and brought it down upon the earth. After that, a gentle wind began to blow, carrying a pure and auspicious fragrance.

Educational Q&A

Even amid warfare, the text frames righteous protection as a dharmic act: a lethal threat is neutralized with skill and restraint, and the ensuing auspicious sign (fragrant breeze) suggests the re-establishment of order after danger is checked.

Bhīṣma describes seeing a blazing śakti-weapon rushing toward him; he counters it by cutting it into three pieces with arrows and dropping it to the ground. Immediately afterward, a gentle, sweet-smelling wind blows, functioning as an auspicious atmospheric omen.
