evaṁ bruvāṇo gāndhāre rāmo māṁ satyavikramaḥ | śaravrātena mahatā sarvataḥ pratyavārayat ||
O son of Gāndhārī, as Rāma (Paraśurāma)—a hero of unfailing prowess—spoke thus, he hemmed me in on every side with a vast mass of arrows.

The verse highlights that when counsel and speech reach their limit, responsibility is borne through disciplined action. True valor (satyavikrama) is not mere aggression but steadiness and control in the face of danger, expressed here through precise martial restraint.
Bhīṣma recounts to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Paraśurāma, after speaking, surrounded and checked Bhīṣma on all sides with a dense barrage of arrows—an escalation in their duel where Paraśurāma attempts to dominate the field and restrict Bhīṣma’s movement.
