Sañjaya said: “Hearing these words, all the mice fled in panic; and that wicked cat too, crestfallen, went away just as it had come.”
संजय उवाच
When harmful intent is exposed, deception loses its power; the wise respond with discernment and timely withdrawal, prioritizing safety over engagement with a known predator.
After hearing the cat’s words (and recognizing the danger), the mice scatter and escape; the cat, thwarted and disgraced, departs without achieving its aim.
