उलूकदूतवाक्यम् / Ulūka’s Message to the Pāṇḍavas

Vaiśampāyana said: O King, shamed and humiliated by his defeat, he did not return to Kuṇḍina. Having approached Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Lord of Yoga, and being overcome by the disgrace of being bested, he stayed away instead of going back.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical and psychological consequence of defeat: wounded pride and shame can drive a person to avoidance rather than accountability. It implicitly warns that honor should be grounded in dharma and self-mastery, not merely in victory.

Vaiśampāyana reports that a certain person—after approaching Śrī Kṛṣṇa and being defeated—felt deep humiliation and therefore did not return to Kuṇḍina (Kuṇḍinapura).
