Vaiśampāyana said: Abhimanyu, the son of Subhadrā, the sons of Draupadī, and Dhṛṣṭadyumna the son of Pṛṣata—together with Prabhadraka warriors and the Pāñcāla heroes—advanced with Bhīmasena at their head. In this march, they deliberately placed Bhīma in front, signaling resolve, protection for the host, and readiness for the coming conflict.

The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma expressed through disciplined leadership and collective resolve: the allied heroes advance in unity, placing a proven protector (Bhīma) at the front to safeguard the host and embody courage in the face of impending war.
Vaiśampāyana describes the forward movement of the Pāṇḍava-aligned forces: Abhimanyu, the Draupadeyas, Dhṛṣṭadyumna, and allied Prabhadraka and Pāñcāla warriors march with Bhīmasena leading from the front.
