Nahūṣa’s Pride, the Ṛṣi-Borne Palanquin, and the Search for Indra (नहुष-इन्द्राणी-प्रकरणम्)

नहुषस्तां ततो दृष्टवा सस्मितो वाक्यमब्रवीत्‌ स्वागतं ते वरारोहे कि करोमि शुचिस्मिते,उन्हें देखकर नहुष मुसकराया और इस प्रकार बोला--“वरारोहे! तुम्हारा स्वागत है। शुचिस्मिते! कहो, तुम्हारी क्या सेवा करूँ?

nahuṣas tāṁ tato dṛṣṭvā sasmito vākyam abravīt | svāgataṁ te varārohe kiṁ karomi śucismite ||

Seeing her, Nahuṣa smiled and spoke with courteous warmth: “Welcome, noble lady. O you of pure, gentle smile—tell me, what service may I render you?”
