Vāyu said: “O lord of the people, do now what is fitting and has become necessary in this situation. The words that were spoken—by Bhīṣma, by Droṇa, and by Vidura—(and likewise by Gāndhārī and Dhṛtarāṣṭra) in the Kaurava assembly in my presence, I have conveyed to you in full. O Bhārata, this is exactly what transpired there. Now, decide and act according to what you judge to be right.”
वायुदेव उवाच
A ruler must act according to what is both dharmically fitting (yuktam) and practically incumbent (prāptam), after hearing reliable counsel and a truthful report; responsibility ultimately rests with the decision-maker.
Vāyu concludes his message by stating that he has faithfully relayed what leading elders and advisers (Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Vidura, along with Gāndhārī and Dhṛtarāṣṭra) said in the Kaurava court, and urges the addressed king to decide and act appropriately.
