Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 148: Vāsudeva’s Report—Mobilization and the Nīti Sequence
Sāma–Bheda–Daṇḍa
वदान्य: सत्यसंधश्च सर्वभूतहिते रत: । वर्तमान: पितु: शास्त्रे ब्राह्मणानां तथैव च,*वे उदार, सत्यप्रतिज्ञ और समस्त प्राणियोंके हितमें तत्पर रहनेवाले थे। पिता तथा ब्राह्मणोंके आदेशके अनुसार चलते थे
vadānyaḥ satyasaṃdhaś ca sarvabhūtahite rataḥ | vartamānaḥ pituḥ śāstre brāhmaṇānāṃ tathaiva ca ||
Vāyu said: “He was generous, steadfast in truth, and devoted to the welfare of all beings. He lived in accordance with his father’s instruction and likewise in obedience to the ordinances of the Brāhmaṇas.”
