धृतराष्ट्रस्य वंशोपदेशः

Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Dynastic Counsel on Legitimate Rule

न्यायागतं राज्यमिदं कुरूणां युधिष्ठिर: शास्तु वै धर्मपुत्र: । प्रचोदितो धृतराष्ट्रेण राज्ञा पुरस्कृत: शान्तनवेन चैव,“कौरवोंके इस न्यायतः प्राप्त राज्यका धर्मपुत्र युधिष्ठिर ही शासन करें और वे राजा धृतराष्ट्र तथा शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मसे कर्तव्यकी शिक्षा लेते रहें!

Translation

This kingdom of the Kurus, rightfully obtained, should be ruled by Yudhiṣṭhira—the Dharmaputra, the knower of dharma. Urged by King Dhṛtarāṣṭra and honored with the foremost support of Bhīṣma, Śāntanu’s son, let him continue to learn from them the teaching of duty.
