स राजा तस्य ते पुत्रा: पितुर्दायाद्यहारिण: । मा तात कल हं कार्षी राज्यस्यार्ध प्रदीयताम्,पाण्डु राजा थे और उनके पुत्र पाण्डव पिताकी सम्पत्तिके उत्तराधिकारी हैं। अतः वत्स दुर्योधन! तुम कलह न करो। आधा राज्य पाण्डवोंको दे दो
sa rājā tasya te putrāḥ pitur dāyādyahāriṇaḥ | mā tāta kalahāṁ kārṣī rājyasyārdhaṁ pradīyatām ||
Bhīṣma said: “That king (Pāṇḍu) was your father’s rightful heir, and those sons of his—the Pāṇḍavas—are the legitimate inheritors of their father’s estate. Therefore, dear child Duryodhana, do not create strife; let half the kingdom be granted to them.”
