Vāyu said: “O Rādheya, you have served and honored Brahmins who have mastered the Vedas. With disciplined self-restraint and without fault-finding or envy, you have questioned them about the true meaning of reality—seeking right knowledge in the proper spirit of humility and ethical conduct.”
वायुदेव उवाच
True learning is grounded in character: one should approach the learned with reverence, practice self-restraint, and inquire into truth without envy or a fault-finding attitude. Knowledge sought in humility becomes ethically transformative.
Vāyudeva addresses Rādheya (Karṇa), acknowledging his past conduct: he honored Veda-knowing Brahmins and questioned them about tattva (truth) while maintaining disciplined behavior and anasūyā (non-malicious, non-censorious disposition).
