Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 132 — Vidura’s Counsel on Udyama, Yaśas, and Kṣātra-Dharma
jvala mūrdhny amitrāṇāṁ muhūrtam api vā kṣaṇam |
Vāyu-deva said: “Blaze upon the heads of the foes—do not relent even for a moment, whether a full muhūrta or a mere instant. Become like a consuming fire over the enemy host, and with swift force strike and destroy their soldiers.”
The verse urges uncompromising valor against hostile forces: when righteous battle is undertaken, hesitation is portrayed as dangerous; decisive action is framed as the means to subdue adharma and protect one’s side.
Vāyu-deva issues a forceful command to a warrior/agent to surge forward like fire over the enemy—pressing the attack continuously, without pausing even for an instant, and to rout the opposing soldiers.
