Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 132 — Vidura’s Counsel on Udyama, Yaśas, and Kṣātra-Dharma

Vāyu said: “Let no woman in the world give birth to a son like this—one devoid of righteous indignation, lacking zeal, bereft of strength and valor, and who only increases the joy of his enemies.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse condemns cowardice and inertness in the face of conflict: a son should not be one who lacks spirited resolve (utsāha), strength (bala), and heroic initiative (parākrama), because such weakness empowers adversaries and undermines dharma in a warrior context.
Vāyudeva delivers a sharp rebuke framed as a moral warning: he declares that no woman should bear a son of the described type—one whose lack of courage and energy becomes a source of happiness for enemies—thus urging the cultivation of warrior virtues appropriate to the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war setting.
