क्रूराय कर्मणे नित्यं प्रजानां परिपालने । शृणु चात्रोपमामेकां या वृद्धेभ्य: श्रुता मया,वे युद्धरूपी कठोर कर्मके लिये रचे गये हैं तथा सदा प्रजापालनरूपी धर्ममें प्रवृत्त होते हैं। मैं इस विषयमें एक उदाहरण देती हूँ, जिसे मैंने बड़े-बूढ़ोंके मुँहले सुन रखा है

Translation

You were fashioned for the harsh work of war and are ever engaged in the dharma of protecting the people. Hear now a single example of this, as I have heard it from the elders.
