Udyoga-parva 131
कि वाच्या: पाण्डवेयास्ते भवत्या वचनान्मया । तद् ब्रूहि त्वं महाप्राज्ञे शुश्रेषे वचनं तव,महाप्राज्ञे! मुझे पाण्डवोंसे तुम्हारा क्या संदेश कहना होगा, उसे बताओ। मैं तुम्हारी बात सुनना चाहता हूँ
kiṃ vācyāḥ pāṇḍaveyās te bhavatyā vacanān mayā | tad brūhi tvaṃ mahāprājñe śuśrūṣe vacanaṃ tava ||
Vāyu said: “What message, born of your words, should I convey to the sons of Pāṇḍu? Tell me, O greatly wise one; I am ready to hear what you would say.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights ethical communication: a messenger should convey only what is truly intended by the speaker, listening carefully and seeking clarity before speaking on another’s behalf.
Vāyu addresses a highly wise woman and asks what message he should deliver to the Pāṇḍavas, expressing readiness to listen and accurately transmit her words.
