Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 130: Kuntī’s Instruction on Rājadharma and Daṇḍanīti
भीमो युधिष्ठिरश्नैव माद्रीपुत्रो च पृष्ठत: । अन्धका वृष्णयश्चैव प्रद्युम्नप्रमुखास्तत:
bhīmo yudhiṣṭhiraś caiva mādrīputro ca pṛṣṭhataḥ | andhakā vṛṣṇayaś caiva pradyumnapramukhās tataḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Bhīma and Yudhiṣṭhira, and also the son of Mādrī, followed behind; and after them came the Andhakas and the Vṛṣṇis, led by Pradyumna. The verse underscores the ordered movement of allied leaders—an image of disciplined solidarity as the parties proceed toward a decisive, dharma-charged confrontation.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined unity among dharma-aligned allies: leaders and clans move in an ordered sequence, suggesting that righteous purpose is strengthened by coordination, loyalty, and proper leadership rather than mere force.
Vaiśampāyana lists those proceeding in the rear: Bhīma, Yudhiṣṭhira, and a son of Mādrī, followed by the Yādava groups—the Andhakas and Vṛṣṇis—headed by Pradyumna, indicating the assembled allies moving together in formation.
