gandharvāp-sarasāṁ samūhaiḥ tasya suyaśaḥ gāyamānaiḥ samīpe nṛtyitvā sa prahṛṣṭaḥ kṛtaḥ; svargaloke dundubhy-ādi-vādyānāṁ gambhīra-dhvaninā sārdhaṁ atyanta-prema-pūrvakaṁ sa parigṛhītaḥ. abhiṣṭutaś ca vividhair devarājaṛṣi-cāraṇaiḥ; arcitaś cottamārghyeṇa daivataiḥ abhinanditaḥ.
Companies of Gandharvas and Apsarases delighted him by singing of his noble fame and dancing near him. In the heavenly realm he was received with deep, resonant sounds of drums and other instruments, and embraced with great affection. Many kinds of divine seers, royal seers, and celestial bards praised him; and the gods, offering the finest arghya, worshipped and welcomed him with honor. The scene underscores how true renown is affirmed not by force but by virtue acknowledged even in the celestial order.
The passage highlights that genuine renown (suyaśas) is rooted in virtue and is acknowledged through respectful reception and praise; honor is shown through hospitality (arghya), celebration, and communal recognition rather than coercion.
Nārada describes a celestial welcome: Gandharvas and Apsarases sing and dance, drums and instruments resound in heaven, and divine seers, royal sages, and bards offer eulogies while the gods worship and greet the honored figure with arghya.
