Haryaśva’s Agreement with Gālava and the Birth of Vasumanā

Nārada’s narration

dṛṣṭvā priyasakhaṃ tākṣyaṃ gālavaṃ ca dvijarṣabham | nidarśanaṃ ca tapaso bhikṣāṃ ślāghyāṃ ca kīrtitām |

Nārada said: Seeing his dear friend Tākṣya (Garuḍa) and also Gālava, the bull among Brahmins—who stood as a living embodiment of austerity—and hearing of the laudable alms (a worthy request) that had been spoken of, the king reflected within himself: “Leaving aside many other kings born in the Solar line, these two have come to me.” Having thus considered, he spoke.
