Nārada said: “Falsehood has no true form or footing; from falsehood no enduring lineage or worthy issue arises. Nor does sovereignty last for one who is untruthful—how then could he attain an auspicious destiny?”

Educational Q&A

Truth (satya) is the foundation of moral and social order: falsehood lacks real stability, cannot sustain a worthy continuity (santati), does not secure enduring authority (ādhipatya), and therefore cannot lead to an auspicious end (śubhā gati).

In Udyoga Parva, Nārada delivers ethical counsel in the tense pre-war context, emphasizing that untruth undermines legitimacy and lasting success—an admonition relevant to rulers and decision-makers as conflict approaches.
