Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 106: Pūrva-Diśa Praśaṃsā
Praise and Primacy of the Eastern Quarter
“अत: आओ' हम दोनों चलें। गालव! मैं तुम्हें सुखपूर्वक ऐसे देशमें पहुँचा दूँगा, जो पृथ्वीके अन्तर्गत तथा समुद्रके उस पार है। चलो, विलम्ब न करो” ।। इति श्रीमहाभारते उद्योगपर्वणि भगवद्यानपर्वणि गालवचरिते सप्ताधिकशततमो<ध्याय:
ataḥ āgaccha, āvām ubhau calāvaḥ. gālava! ahaṃ tvāṃ sukhapūrvam eva tādṛśaṃ deśaṃ prāpayitā, yaḥ pṛthivyā antargataḥ samudrasya ca pāre. cala, vilambaṃ mā kṛthāḥ.
Nārada said: “Come then—let us both set out. Gālava, I will convey you safely and with ease to a land that lies beneath the earth and beyond the ocean. Come; do not delay.”
नारद उवाच
The verse emphasizes decisive action under wise guidance: when a righteous goal requires effort, one should proceed without procrastination, trusting competent mentorship and maintaining resolve.
Nārada urges Gālava to depart immediately and promises to escort him safely to a remote region described as lying beneath the earth and beyond the ocean, indicating a swift transition to an extraordinary destination in Gālava’s quest.
