Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes that true command over power—symbolized by a thousand-horsed victorious chariot—depends on mastery of the mind; inner restraint is the ethical foundation for directing external force.

Nārada describes an extraordinary war-chariot used in divine–demonic conflicts, noting that it is controlled not by physical reins alone but by mental resolve, underscoring the superhuman discipline associated with its wielder.
