Yuddha-yajña-vyākhyāna (The Battle as Sacrifice): Ambarīṣa–Indra Saṃvāda

वेदिर्यस्य त्वमित्राणां शिरोभ्यश्न प्रकीर्यते

vedir yasya tvamitrāṇāṃ śirobhyaśna prakīryate

Ambarīṣa said: “You are the sacrificial altar for your enemies—upon the heads of those foes you are strewn and heaped, as if the very rite of their downfall were being performed.”
