अरण्यवृत्ति-वैराग्योपदेशः | Forest Discipline and the Program of Non-Attachment

दिव: पतत्सु देवेषु स्थाने भ्यश्न महर्षिषु । को हि नाम भवेनार्थी भवेत्‌ कारणतत्त्ववित्‌,जब देवता भी स्वर्गसे नीचे गिरते हैं और महर्षि भी अपने-अपने स्थानसे भ्रष्ट हो जाते हैं, तब कारण-तत्त्वको जाननेवाला कौन मनुष्य इस जन्म-मरणरूप संसारसे कोई प्रयोजन रखेगा

When even the gods fall down from heaven, and even the great ṛṣis slip from their appointed stations, what man—knowing the truth of causes—would still seek any purpose in this saṁsāra of birth and death?
