Treasury Security, Protection of Informants, and the Kalakavṛkṣīya Exemplum (Śānti Parva 83)

भवतो<र्थकृदित्येवं मयि दोषो हि तै: कृत: । विद्यते कारणं नान्यदिति मे नात्र संशय:

bhavato 'rthakṛd ity evaṁ mayi doṣo hi taiḥ kṛtaḥ | vidyate kāraṇaṁ nānyad iti me nātra saṁśayaḥ ||

Bhishma said: “Because I act for your welfare, those ministers have imputed a grave fault to me; and for that very reason they have come to bear hatred toward me. There is no other cause for their anger—of this statement I have no doubt.”
