ममैवं क्लिश्यमानस्य नारदोभयत: सदा । वक्तुमरहसि यच्छेयो ज्ञातीनामात्मनस्तथा
mamaivaṁ kliśyamānasya nāradobhayataḥ sadā | vaktum arhasi yac chreyo jñātīnām ātmanas tathā ||
As I am thus afflicted and distressed, O Nārada, on every side and at all times, you ought to tell me what is truly best—both for my kinsmen and for myself as well.
वायुदेव उवाच
In times of pervasive distress, one should seek guidance oriented toward śreyas—true, lasting welfare—balancing responsibility to one’s kin with one’s own ethical and spiritual good.
Vāyudeva, feeling afflicted on all sides, addresses the sage Nārada and requests clear counsel about what course of action would be most beneficial both for his relatives and for himself.
