Daṇḍanīti and the King as the Cause of Yuga-Order (दण्डनीतिः राजधर्मश्च युगकारणत्वम्)

यथा पुत्रास्तथा पोत्रा द्रष्टव्यास्ते न संशय: । भक्तिश्नैषां न कर्तव्या व्यवहारे प्रदर्शिते
Translation
The king should regard his subjects as his own sons and grandsons—of this there is no doubt. Yet when the time comes to decide disputes and render judgment, he must not, out of affection, fall into partiality.
