तपसा भगवान्‌ विष्णुराविवेश च भूमिपम्‌ । देववन्नरदेवानां नमते यं जगन्नूपम्‌,राजा पृथुकी तपस्यासे प्रसन्न हो भगवान्‌ विष्णुने स्वयं उनके भीतर प्रवेश किया था। समस्त नरेशोंमेंसे राजा पृुथुकोी ही यह सारा जगत्‌ देवताके समान मस्तक झुकाता था

tapasā bhagavān viṣṇur āviveśa ca bhūmipam | devavan naradevāṇāṁ namate yaṁ jagannṛpam | rājā pṛthukī tapasyāse prasanno ho bhagavān viṣṇunā svayam

Bhishma said: By the power of austerity, the Blessed Lord Vishnu entered into that king. Among the godlike rulers of men, he was a king before whom the whole world bowed its head as if before a deity. Thus King Prithuki, steadfast in penance, won the direct favor of Lord Vishnu Himself.
