सागर: सरितां भर्ता हिमवांक्षाचलोत्तम: । शक्रश्न धनमक्षय्यं प्रादात् तस्मै युधिष्ठिर,पाण्डुनन्दन युधिष्ठिर! उस समय साक्षात् पृथ्वी देवी रत्नोंकी भेंट लेकर उनकी सेवामें उपस्थित हुई थी। सरिताओंके स्वामी समुद्र, पर्वतोंमें श्रेष्ठ हिमवान् तथा देवराज इन्द्रने अक्षय धन समर्पित किया
sāgaraḥ saritāṃ bhartā himavāṃś cācalottamaḥ | śakraś ca dhanam akṣayyaṃ prādāt tasmai yudhiṣṭhira ||
Bhīṣma said: “O Yudhiṣṭhira, son of Pāṇḍu—Ocean, lord of rivers, and Himavān, foremost of mountains, and Śakra (Indra) too, presented him with inexhaustible wealth.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse conveys that dharmic rule aligns a king with cosmic order, so that nature and the gods are depicted as cooperating—symbolically granting stability and inexhaustible resources to sustain righteous governance.
Bhīṣma addresses Yudhiṣṭhira and recounts a scene where mighty cosmic beings—Ocean, Himavān, and Indra—offer gifts, especially imperishable wealth, to a worthy recipient, illustrating recognition and support of rightful sovereignty.
