O delight of the Kurus, the Bhārgava (sage) was pleased with her purity. Seeking a son, he then offered prayers—likewise also for the welfare of Gādhi’s line—thus grounding the desired boon in the ethical power of cleanliness, self-restraint, and right conduct.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights śauca (purity) as an ethical force that wins the goodwill of the righteous and becomes a legitimate basis for blessings—especially concerning family continuity—showing that inner discipline and cleanliness support dharmic outcomes.
Vāyudeva narrates that the Bhārgava sage, pleased by a woman’s purity, prays/entreats for the granting of a son and similarly seeks welfare connected with Gādhi’s line, indicating the conferral of a boon grounded in her virtuous conduct.
