स तस्य पुरुषेन्द्रस्य प्रभावेण महौजस: । ददाह कार्तवीर्यस्य शैलानथ वनस्पतीन्,उन्होंने उस महापराक्रमी नरेश कार्तवीर्यके प्रभावसे पर्वतों और वनस्पतियोंको जलाना आरम्भ किया
sa tasya puruṣendrasya prabhāveṇa mahaujasāḥ | dadāha kārtavīryasya śailān atha vanaspatīn |
Vāsudeva said: “Empowered by the majesty of that lion among men, the mighty one began to burn the mountains and the trees belonging to Kārtavīrya.”
वासुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the dangerous reach of royal or heroic power: when driven by influence and might rather than restraint, it can cause indiscriminate harm to nature and subjects—implying the ethical need for self-control and dharmic governance.
A mighty figure, strengthened by the extraordinary influence of a supreme king, begins burning Kārtavīrya’s mountains and trees—describing a destructive escalation tied to Kārtavīrya’s power and its effects.
