Kurukṣetra-anudarśanam — Rāma-hradāḥ and the Question of Kṣatra Continuity (शान्ति पर्व, अध्याय ४८)

As they proceeded on their way, the mighty-armed Lord Kṛṣṇa, the delight of the Yādavas, began recounting to Yudhiṣṭhira the heroic prowess of Jāmadagnya Paraśurāma—setting before him an example of formidable power and its moral weight within the order of dharma.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames moral instruction through exempla: Kṛṣṇa prepares Yudhiṣṭhira to reflect on how extraordinary power (vikrama) must be understood and judged within dharma—its rightful use, its consequences, and its place in righteous governance.
While traveling, Kṛṣṇa begins narrating to Yudhiṣṭhira the deeds and prowess of Paraśurāma (Jāmadagnya). Vaiśampāyana reports this as part of the larger didactic flow of the Śānti Parva.
