Vaiśaṃpāyana said: King Yudhiṣṭhira, renowned for giving abundant gifts, had learned and self-controlled Brāhmaṇas—endowed with Vedic study, steadiness, and good conduct—recite auspicious blessings. He then honored them according to proper ritual procedure and bestowed generous donations upon them. The episode underscores that righteous kingship is expressed not only through power but through reverence for learning, disciplined virtue, and the maintenance of sacred order by timely, lawful generosity.
