जज्ञुश्वैव महात्मानस्ततस्तं ज्ञानचक्षुषा । ब्राह्मणा वेदविद्वांसस्तपोभिविमलीकृता:,उन वेदवेत्ता ब्राह्मणोंका अन्त:ःकरण तपस्यासे निर्मल हो गया था। उन महात्माओंने ज्ञानदृष्टिसे उस राक्षसको पहचान लिया
jajñuś caiva mahātmānas tatas taṁ jñānacakṣuṣā | brāhmaṇā vedavidvāṁsas tapobhir vimalīkṛtāḥ ||
Then those great-souled Brahmins—learned in the Vedas and purified by austerity—recognized him with the eye of spiritual knowledge. Their inner clarity, refined through tapas, enabled them to discern the true nature of the being before them.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Purification through tapas and learning culminates in jñāna—an inner vision that discerns reality beyond appearances. Ethical clarity is presented as a fruit of disciplined life and Vedic wisdom.
Vaiśampāyana reports that Veda-knowing Brahmins, whose minds were purified by austerity, recognized the true identity/nature of the being before them through spiritual insight (jñānacakṣuṣ).
