दानपात्रापात्र-निर्णयः / Determining Worthy Gifts, Recipients, and Permissible Food

रथं हेममयं शुभ्र॑ शैब्यसुग्रीवयोजितम्‌ । सह सात्यकिना कृष्ण: समास्थायान्वयात्‌ कुरून्‌

rathaṁ hemamayaṁ śubhraṁ śaibyasugrīvayojitam | saha sātyakinā kṛṣṇaḥ samāsthāyānvayāt kurūn ||

Vaiśampāyana said: Kṛṣṇa, accompanied by Sātyaki, mounted a splendid, gleaming chariot made of gold, yoked with the horses named Śaibya and Sugrīva, and followed after the Kurus. The verse underscores purposeful movement under rightful leadership—action taken with resolve and companionship, not in isolation, as events proceed toward the demands of dharma.

Educational Q&A

Even amid politically charged movement toward conflict, the text highlights disciplined action under rightful guidance: Kṛṣṇa proceeds with clarity and support (Sātyaki), suggesting that dharmic action is deliberate, accountable, and strengthened by loyal companionship.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa, with Sātyaki, mounts a radiant golden chariot yoked to the horses Śaibya and Sugrīva, and follows behind the Kurus as the sequence of events continues.
