दानपात्रापात्र-निर्णयः / Determining Worthy Gifts, Recipients, and Permissible Food
सुह्ृदामस्मदादीनां द्रौपद्याश्व॒ परंतप । कुरु प्रियममित्रध्न लोकस्य च हितं कुरु
suhṛdām asmad-ādīnāṁ draupadyāś ca parantapa | kuru priyaṁ amitradhn lokasya ca hitaṁ kuru ||
Vāyu said: “O scorcher of foes, O slayer of enemies—act in a way that pleases your well-wishers such as us, and also Draupadī. Do what is dear (to the righteous), and devote yourself to the welfare of the whole world.”
वायुदेव उवाच
A ruler’s strength should be guided by dharma: he should act to please righteous well-wishers and, beyond private loyalties, commit himself to loka-hita—actions that secure the welfare of all.
Vāyudeva addresses a heroic king, urging him to heed the counsel of well-intentioned allies and to act in a way that benefits Draupadī and the wider world, framing personal duty within broader public responsibility.
