Educational Q&A

When disorder and oppression become a ‘burden’ upon the world, it is righteous (nyāyya) for a higher sustaining power to intervene—methodically and proportionately—to restore balance. The verse frames intervention not as arbitrary force but as duty aligned with cosmic and ethical order.

The speaker states that it is appropriate for him to undertake the ‘removal of the earth’s burden’ and that this will be done through taking multiple forms (various avatāras) in a proper sequence, raising up the necessary agencies to accomplish the task on earth.
