एवं स भगवान्‌ व्यासो गुरुर्मम विशाम्पते । कथयामास धर्मज्ञो धर्मराज्ञे द्विजोत्तम:

Transliteration

evaṁ sa bhagavān vyāso gurur mama viśāmpate | kathayāmāsa dharmajño dharmarājñe dvijottamaḥ ||

Translation

Thus did the blessed Vyāsa—my revered teacher, O lord of the people—being a knower of dharma and the foremost among the twice-born, recount these matters to Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira).
