इत्युच्चारितवाक्यौ तौ बोधयामासतुर्हरिम् । युद्धार्थिनौ हि विज्ञाय विबुद्धः पुरुषोत्तम:
ity uccāritavākyau tau bodhayāmāsatur harim | yuddhārthinau hi vijñāya vibuddhaḥ puruṣottamaḥ ||
Thus, after they had spoken these words, the two addressed and apprised Hari. Recognizing that they were intent on war, the awakened Supreme Person understood their purpose and stance.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights divine discernment: the Supreme Person perceives inner intention (here, the desire for war) beyond mere speech, implying that ethical evaluation hinges on motive as well as action.
After two individuals speak, they inform Hari; Hari (Puruṣottama), being fully aware, recognizes that they are seeking war and understands their aim.
