Atithi-prāpti and the Brāhmaṇa’s Deliberation on Triadic Dharma (अतिथिप्राप्तिः धर्मत्रयविचारश्च)

रुद्रो रोषात्मको जातो दशान्यान्‌ सो5सृजत्‌ स्वयम्‌ । एकादशैते रुद्रास्तु विकारपुरुषा: स्मृता:

rudro roṣātmako jāto daśānyān so 'sṛjat svayam | ekādaśaite rudrās tu vikārapuruṣāḥ smṛtāḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana said: From Brahmā’s wrath Rudra came into being, embodying fierce anger. That Rudra then, of his own accord, brought forth ten more. Thus these are the eleven Rudras, remembered as ‘vikāra-puruṣas’—personifications of transformative, impassioned forces that arise from disturbance in the mind and cosmos.
