Bhīṣma said: “O Brahman, you will indeed become a bestower of boons to those who seek boons. O treasure of austerity, you will be ever worthy of worship by the hosts of gods and demons, and by the sages as well.”

Educational Q&A

A life grounded in tapas (disciplined austerity) and spiritual integrity matures into moral and spiritual authority—so much so that one becomes capable of granting boons (i.e., blessings, guidance, or fulfilled aims) and becomes worthy of reverence across opposing camps (gods and demons alike).

Bhīṣma addresses a revered Brahman/ascetic and praises his future stature: he will be a boon-giver to seekers and will be honored by divine, demonic, and sage communities, highlighting the ascetic’s rising spiritual eminence.
