Shloka 131

धर्मस्य बहुद्वारत्वम् — Nārada’s Audience with Indra (Śānti-parva 340)

जिज्ञासुर्लभते कामान्‌ भक्तो भक्तगतिं व्रजेत्‌ । इस कथाको आदिसे ही सुनकर रोगी रोगसे मुक्त हो जायगा, जिज्ञासु पुरुषको इच्छानुसार ज्ञान प्राप्त होगा और भक्त पुरुष भक्तजनोचित गतिको प्राप्त होगा ।। त्वयापि सतत राजन्नभ्यर्च्य: पुरुषोत्तम:

jijñāsur labhate kāmān bhakto bhaktagatiṁ vrajet | tvayāpi satataṁ rājann abhyarcyaḥ puruṣottamaḥ ||

Bhīṣma said: “The seeker of knowledge attains the desired aims; the devotee reaches the destiny befitting devotees. By hearing this account from the very beginning, even one afflicted by illness becomes freed from disease; the inquisitive person gains knowledge according to his wish; and the devoted person attains the proper course and end of the devoted. Therefore, O king, you too should continually worship the Supreme Person.”
