धर्मस्य बहुद्वारत्वम् — Nārada’s Audience with Indra (Śānti-parva 340)

यदा वेदश्रुतिर्नष्टा मया प्रत्याहता पुन: । सवेदा: सश्रुतीकाश्च कृताः पूर्व कृते युगे,जब-जब वेद-श्रुति लुप्त हुई है, तब-तब अवतार लेकर मैंने पुनः उसे प्रकाशमें ला दिया है। मैंने ही पहले सत्ययुगमें वेदोंसहित श्रुतियोंको प्रकट किया था

yadā vedaśrutir naṣṭā mayā pratyāhatā punaḥ | sa-vedāḥ sa-śrutīkāś ca kṛtāḥ pūrvaṃ kṛte yuge ||

Bhīṣma said: “Whenever the Vedic tradition (śruti) has been lost, I have again restored it and brought it back to light. Indeed, in the ancient Kṛta (Satya) Yuga, I had already made manifest the Vedas together with their śruti traditions.”
