पितृयज्ञे नारायणतत्त्वम् — The Nārāyaṇa Grounding of Ancestral Offerings
tataḥ pradakṣiṇaṁ kṛtvā devarṣi-nāradaṁ tataḥ | nivedayāmāsa ca taṁ svaṁ yogaṁ paramarṣaye ||
Then, having circumambulated the divine seer Nārada in reverence, he respectfully submitted to that supreme ṛṣi an account of his own yogic discipline.

The verse highlights the ethical-spiritual protocol of learning: humility and reverence toward a qualified teacher (guru-like ṛṣi), and honest disclosure of one’s practice. Progress in yoga is framed as guided, accountable discipline rather than mere self-assertion.
A seeker approaches the divine sage Nārada, performs pradakṣiṇā as a sign of respect, and then reports or presents his own yogic practice to Nārada, implying a request for instruction, confirmation, or further direction.
