Bhishma said: Hearing Narada’s words, Vyasa—supremely versed in dharma—replied, “So be it.” Steadfast in his vows and firm in the disciplined practice of the Vedas, he assented with clear resolve, aligning his action with righteous counsel.
भीष्म उवाच
A truly dharma-knowing person listens to wise counsel and responds with steady, principled resolve; learning (Vedic discipline) is shown as inseparable from ethical firmness (dṛḍha-vrata).
Bhishma reports that Vyasa hears Narada’s statement/advice and immediately assents—“So be it”—presenting Vyasa as a sage whose decisions are grounded in dharma and sustained by Vedic practice and unwavering vows.
