Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical posture of discipleship: acknowledging that one’s excellence (tejas) and reputation (yaśas) arise through the guru’s guidance, and approaching the teacher with humility to seek further instruction or blessing.

A group of disciples address their teacher, stating that they have gained brilliance and fame through his favor, and they now ask him to grant one more act of benevolence—implying a further teaching, initiation, or guidance they seek.
