पुरोधसा संगृहीतं हस्तेनालभ्य पार्थिव: । प्रददौ गुरुपुत्राय शुकाय परमार्चितम्,उस समय जिसे पुरोहितने ले रखा था, वह सर्वतोभद्र नामक बहुरत्नजटित आसन, जिसपर मूल्यवान् बिछौने बिछे हुए थे, उनके हाथसे अपने हाथमें लेकर राजा जनकने गुरुपुत्र शुकदेवको समर्पित किया। वह आसन समृद्धिसे सम्पन्न था
purodhasā saṅgṛhītaṃ hastenālabhya pārthivaḥ | pradadau guruputrāya śukāya paramārcitam ||
Bhishma said: “The king, taking with his own hand the richly honored seat that had been held by the royal priest, presented it to Śuka, the son of the guru, with highest respect.”
भीष्म उवाच
Dharma is expressed through humility and honoring spiritual merit: even a king should personally show reverence to a worthy sage by offering respect and appropriate hospitality, valuing wisdom above status.
The king (contextually Janaka) takes an honored seat that the royal priest was holding and personally presents it to Śuka, the guru’s son, as a mark of high respect and welcome.
