Adhyāya 325: Nārada in Śvetadvīpa—Stotra to the Nirguṇa Mahātman
iti prakāraṁ śrīmahābhārata-śānti-parva-ke antargata mokṣa-dharma-parva-me śukadeva-kī utpatti-viṣayaka trī-śata catur-viṁśat-tamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ
Thus ends the three hundred and twenty-fourth chapter, concerning the birth of Śukadeva, within the Mokṣadharma section of the Śānti Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata. This closing colophon marks the completion of a teaching unit oriented toward liberation (mokṣa) and the dharma that leads to it.
भीष्म उवाच
This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it signals the completion of a chapter in the Mokṣadharma section, whose broader aim is to frame dharma in relation to liberation (mokṣa), often emphasizing renunciation, self-knowledge, and detachment.
The text is closing the chapter that dealt with the account of Śukadeva’s origin/birth. It formally marks the end of that adhyāya within the Śānti Parva’s Mokṣadharma unit.
