देवतापितृप्रश्नः — Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship
इस प्रकार श्रीमहा भारत शान्तिपर्वके अन्तर्गत मोक्षधर्मपर्वमें युलभा और जनकका संवादविषयक तीन सौ बीसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraṁ śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi antargate mokṣadharmaparvaṇi yulabhā-janaka-saṁvāda-viṣayakaḥ triśatatamaviṁśatittamo 'dhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ
Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Śānti Parva—specifically in the Mokṣadharma section—the three hundred and twentieth chapter, dealing with the dialogue between Yulabhā and King Janaka, comes to an end. This closing formula marks the completion of a liberation-oriented teaching episode conveyed through reasoned discourse.
भीष्म उवाच
This verse is a colophon marking the end of a chapter; it frames the preceding teaching as a Mokṣadharma discourse—liberation-oriented dharma—delivered through the dialogue of Yulabhā and King Janaka, emphasizing reflective inquiry as a vehicle for ethical and spiritual clarity.
Bhīṣma’s narration reaches a formal chapter-end: the Mahābhārata’s Śānti Parva, within its Mokṣadharma section, concludes the chapter whose subject is the conversation between Yulabhā and Janaka.
